Today's Doctor House Calls

At present, remarkable improvements in medical technology and people’s increasing health awareness have extended an average American’s life span. In 2004, 12 percent of the population were age 65 and over. Millions of old people are in need of constant medical attention and most prefer being taken care of at the comfort of their homes. Staying at home also saves the family so much money than having to pay for in-hospital bills. Patients with chronic diseases have the most need for house calls since they have a great need to be watched and cared night and day.

Today, being hospitalized for a few days costs a fortune. And since population is increasing, the increasing number of patients and their need for medical attention also demand a more efficient and cheaper way of medication.

Doctor house calls history is ongoing until now and it is presently at its glorious comeback. House call doctors and other services are not, however, offered only to those with chronic and serious diseases. Doctor house calls have become a brilliant means of making the field of technology and medicine accessible to all.
